Getting pre qualified for a mortgage is one of the first things a home buyer should do. In part this lets sellers know you are serious about buying a home. It also lets you know just what you can afford. Check out our lenders page to find local banks that can finance your dreams. learn more... |
| When buying a home, have you considered just what has to be done? Is it move in ready? Maybe you have to dump tens of thousands into the home to upgrade electrical and plumbing as well as structural improvements. If you are a do it yourself type of person, you might want to look at a fixer upper. Chances are you can find a lower priced home that needs improvements. You might also be one of the many out there that do not want to do a thing except move in. Finding homes that are completely move in ready will cost more than the ones that need improvement. The benefit to these homes though is that everything is already done for you. |

Submitting an offer is a fairly easy process. However if you insult a homeowner by making an offer that is way too low, chances are they will not sell to you. Both buyers and sellers know that selling by owner they do not have to pay broker commissions. Because of this, most sellers will price their home accordingly. By listing their home for less than what a realtor would list it for, odds are it will sell faster. This does mean that some homes will have less wiggle room when it comes to price.
Have you considered what you have to do to the home to make it livable? These improvements are reasonable reasons to adjust your offer if the homeowner has not already done so in their asking price. |
